Turbine Celebrates 1st Anniversary of Lord of the Rings Online

In celebration of the first anniversary of The Lord of the Rings Online, Turbine, Inc. and Codemasters Online today announced the launch of the fifth free content update to the game - Book 13: Doom of the Last-king. Adding an entire new region to Middle-earth, a new Monster Play class and the introduction of the hobby system, among other enhancements, Book 13 is available starting today for subscribers in North America.
In addition, during a month-long anniversary celebration, Turbine will offer a special promotion with two new pricing plans as well as series of in-game events for players. Two official press releases with more information can be found below. Turbine has also released a handful of new Book 13 screenshots depicting a new faction, the Lossoth, as well as the new Defiler monster class.
